So Far In 2016…By Andrew Carpenter

I have given Brokerage training for Sutton Council, to their internal brokerage staff, who are going to be support planning and not just implementing plans, from this year onwards. I’ve also completed training for a ULO in Hackney, to a group of potential peer-brokers.  In Autumn, I’ll be doing similar for a ULO in Barking & Dagenham, and running the Autumn Open Course in Bow, London E3.

I have branched out into giving bespoke autism training, and have been accepted by the NAS as an approved contractor and trainer.  I’m pleased to say that their training manager was so impressed with my delivery that my first piece of work for them is to quality audit their existing trainers by observing them.  I have also delivered autism training to some IAPT trainees and have trained MH staff in Harrow for CNWL NHS Trust, which went down very well.

I have been given a position by NHS England (London) as a Public Champion for Mobilising Community Assets, due to their interest in the Community Brokerage model.  I am now part of their Personalisation and Self-Care Team in London and sit on the policy delivery board.   I’m also contributing to their upcoming guidance on Social Prescribing.

I have made a nice connection with Enabled City , a small company, but who have an NHS contract to run HERO Docs, which makes NHS websites more accessible.
